FOSTER CARE

GSRV are always looking for foster carers – especially those with breed experience. Foster care is a rewarding way of contributing towards the rescue and rehoming of dogs, without the permanent commitment.

  • It can be a very frightening and unsettling time for a rescue dog, when it is first moved into a new environment. Our foster carers provide a warm and loving home whilst a dog is either having Vet treatment or awaiting a forever home.

  • Being a foster carer is very rewarding but requires patience and understanding; some dogs come to us having suffered abuse or neglect, some lack any training, and some suffer from other issues, such as separation anxiety. All dogs require some level of support whilst they adjust to the change.

  • Our foster carers are always provided with food, bowls, collars and leads, and GSRV funds all veterinary work required.

It’s always a little sad when a dog leaves for their forever home, but without our wonderful foster carers, these gorgeous GSDs would not get the chance to start over with their new forever families.

If you feel you would like to become part of our foster care team, please fill in a Foster Application below, and we will be in contact with you
